Arrived around 12:45p on a Wednesday. Most tables inside and out were full. There were 4 tables empty but dirty. The place smelled wonderful. 2 very busy servers were running about and there were maybe 4-5 people behind the counter cooking. We waited at the front door for about 4 minutes and were never acknowledged. Another person came in and walked around us, yelled at someone behind the counter and one man came to clean off tables. The other person was sat and we were promptly ignored. We went next door to Mexico and were greeted and sat immediately. Next time, we will go before noon to guarantee a seat AND service.

The Gang Massaman curry w/ shrimp was quite tasty, very nice spices but not spicy enough, but thats just me, I like it really spicy. The issue I had with this place was the prices. I'm sorry, the curry was good but its not worth $11. Tip and all was just under 15 dollars and all I got was the curry and a water. Total sad face, because of the prices I won't be getting the curry again, and thats always a problem for me at Thai restaurants.

Highly recommend this local eatery. The food is absolutely wonderful and the service is quick and friendly.

Service was good, the waiter was so polite & prompt & all the things you would want, but the food was just so bland and disappointing, we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. The panang curry was atomic orange, which made me uneasy. There wasn't anything outstandingly bad about it, but it tasted like a mall food court interpretation of Thai food, with the artificial color to go with it. My date got the pineapple fried rice dish, and the pineapples were so tough & dry that I thought they were potatoes at first. The rice was atomic yellow, and the only flavor was "bleh" punched up with A LOT of salt. We couldn't force ourselves to finish, or kid ourselves into thinking we might like the leftovers. The place is clean, although brightly lit with minimal, uncomfortable bench seating & not deserving of the 4-star ratings in any way. Once again, service was pretty decent, but could not overcome the lackluster meal & strange atmosphere. I went here based on the 4-star rating, you Yelpers really let me down. Disappointment.

Excellent Thai food. Their Pad Thai is supreme! Since first dining here, I haven't had the urge to try another place.

Really good (and fast) Thai food. Never had a bad meal here, my favorite is the flavors noodle with beef. Spicy but not super spicy.

Thai flavors is a nice little place that I usually go to for lunch and have been here a couple of times for dinner. I love their Massaman curry. It is thick and flavorful with lots of tofu. It doesnot come with any other veggie, but I like the curry and don't need extra veggies. I had their Vegetable Kae Mao which were spicy and very flavorful. They are not afraid to make it hot if you ask for it. For lunch, it has always been busy but quick service. For dinner, the service was very slow with just 1 person waiting the tables. Overall, good flavorful food with good service.

I've searched out every Thai joint in town. Thai Flavor, by leaps and bounds, is the best food, service, and value Richmond has to offer. After an injury I had to stay with a family member in Mechanicsville and ate at the local Thai place. Pad Thai is the "5 Star" Thai for the area. It wasn't horrible but it was not Thai Flavor. I will recommend and continue to dine there as long as I'm in Richmond.

Thai Flavor is located in a strip mall right off of Broad Street about 5 minutes away from Short Pump. This new Thai place serves flavorful beef drunken noodles and decent curry. However, service can be slow (I think there was only 1 waiter at late dinner time) and the decor is very standard (wooden tables and wooden chairs). Plenty of parking and decent prices.

The portions are huge and the food is good and the service was fast (on a Monday night).

Cute little place, solid food, some interesting menu options I haven't seen in a while. Can't speak to the degree of authenticity, but it was really tasty. Leftovers kept well, and were lovely.

Some of the best Pad Thai ever. Get it with 3 peppers and get your face wrecked!

I have been to a fair amount of Thai restaurants around Richmond (Mom's Siam, Elephant Thai, etc.) and I can say without hesitation this one is THE BEST. The food is amazing, but there are a few caveats. I work in Innsbrook and I make a lunch trip there once a week because it's hard to go one week without it. Since I go around 12:30 there is usually a huge crowd, and since there are only max 2 servers the service can get pretty slow. Never been during dinner hours though so this could change otherwise. Also, and I partly blame this on them being busy when I eat there, but about 20% of the time my order is not spicy whatsoever when I ask for it medium spicy. Not a big deal because the food is amazing anyways. About the food though: top notch Thai. Whether your fancy is noodles, rice, or veggie, they probably make whatever you like better than you've ever had it before. I get the pad thai w/ beef most of the time, and it is fantastic. Drunken noodle and kao pad are also both delicious. Not a big seafood fan (weird since I love thai food) so can't really comment on that, but everything I have tried here has been great. Prices are pretty cheap too, depending on what kind of meat/seafood you get they range from around 8 to 12 bucks. Just do yourself a favor and eat at Thai Flavor.

I love that they cook right out in the open! The food is fresh and portions are huge (love leftovers). Love the brown nutty rice that you can choose over jasmine white rice for a nice change. Love the Massuman and Panaag Curry both real nutty and delicious. I am addicted to this place and come at least 1-2 times a week. There is no beer or wine, no fancy decorations, just good honest ethnic food at reasonable prices!! When you are in the mood for the best $10 meal that is cheaper than cooking at home even, head to Thai Flavor and you won't be disappointed. I use to love Chadar Thai and Ginger Thai and now Thai Flavor is my "go-to" Thai place 100% of the time for Thai. I posted two photos to take a look at the yummy fresh huge dishes.

This is now my fifth time eating here! Thai food is one of most most favorite types of food to eat after Indian. First time I had the Massaman curry and it was wonderful. Very authentic and perfectly spiced. Second time I had the Drunken noodles...again very pleased. Not as spicy as I wanted it but I will have them take it up a notch next time. My most recent meal today was the Kao Kapow! I have to say that I loved it! Three pepper hot and full of flavor. Had it served over brown rice. This has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Richmond! Even surpassing the great Thai Diner! The family running restaurant was more than friendly and accomidating in every way.

Don't be fooled by the location or decor, the food here is great. Though the menu isn't as expansive as Mom's Siam or Thai Diner Too, they do their core dishes well. I could see bringing a first-timer here to introduce them to Thai cuisine. The Pad See Ew was great, service was quick, but the space is a bit cramped.

After hearing from several people that this is the best Thai restaurant in Richmond, and because I live less than 2 miles from here, I decided to try lunch here today. First I had the Tom Yum, because this is my favorite part of Thai cuisine. When the soup came to the table it looked like water with a little bit of oil in it. Upon tasting it I discovered there was a LOT of salt in there also, but that was about it. This was by far the worst Tom Yum soup I have ever had, and to be clear, I get it at every Thai restaurant I go to (which is more than a few). No one ever asked how it was, or stayed at he table long enough for me to tell them. I also tried the Pad Thai, another basic that any Thai place should be able to do well. It was sugary sweet and the veggies in it looked, and tasted old and were completely raw (which would have been fine if they were fresher). I think some hot sauce may have helped the dish, because, well, what does sriracha not help? But I couldn't get a server's attention for this. There were also 3 people "serving" us, but no one seemed to know really what was going on. The best part of lunch? It was a gorgeous day and I got to sit on their patio. :-D

one of my favorite places for lunch. they are quick and the food is super tasty! I recommend the Panang Curry (sp?) and the Shrimp Pad Thai.

  • Rohit K.

I have been to multiple Thai food places in and around Richmond. I find Thai Flavor the best so far. It is a small hole in the wall place, which made me very skeptical to try it at first. But, i am glad I did and have found my best new restaurant for a quick meal. The ground chicken over rice is my favorite dish.

    (5)
  • Xue L.

Good place for lunch! I had the Pad See you with chicken when I went there the first time. It was really tasty.

    (4)
  • Zed D.

For one of the better thai food places. Although a small place to sit, but the food quality is really good. Prices are very moderate and the food is cooked right in front.

  • Nguyen V.

A Thai restaurant in Glen Allen that's not "Americanize". I love that they aren't afraid of using fish sauce. I love that I can sit and see them cook my meals. The Fried Tofu is a great starter and don't overlook the curries. My current favorite is the Green Curry. Don't get turned off by the name, it's mighty tasty. The Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) is awesome....sweet, salty, spicy, with a hint of charring from the pan. The Pad Thai is pretty good too. When I go to the store, I try to only order one dish and I end up order several because I know how good the are. If I lived closer to the store I'd be in trouble.

  • Taylor T.

Thai food is one of my favorites, along side Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, etc. ...and this place is just okay. It's really great for quick lunches and their prices are really reasonable. There are a few items that I like from here and there are some items that was meh... I really like their beef noodle soup, but it's only sold during dinner. I also like their Thai fried rice, but the other standard items such as pad thai, drunken noodles are just okay.

    My favorite thai restaurant!

  • Judith L.

The panang curry that I got here was delicious. Thick, rich, and full of flavor. Very much well worth it. The pad thai was good, but it was just a little on the bland side to me. I prefer mine to be a little more salty (but of course that will vary by personal taste) and there is a different restaurant that makes it exactly the way I like it. I think the difference between this place and my current favorite Thai place boils down to little things and personal preference, such as a slightly saltier pad thai and a curry that, while not as thick, boasts a depth of flavor and spice that this is just barely lacking. Perhaps upping the spice level will change that. Regardless, this place (even only after one visit) takes the number two spot for me. Definitely a solid place for Thai food and I will be back when I'm in the area to sample more of the menu.

  • Jim C.

Ok so I only gave TF 4 stars b/c of the crispy chicken fried rice. It's an amazing spin on the traditional chicken Thai fried rice. The dish itself, would earn 5-stars. I've ordered drunken noodle and pad se ew and the noodles have been burnt numerous times. The appetizers are all really good! I wish they weren't closed on Mondays!

  • Khalilah L.

This place is so awesome I had to write a 2nd review i call it the sequel muahahaha ...Ive been coming to this place at least once a week to sample the drunken noodles and each time my taste buds are happy and dancing great customer service, great garlicky,basil-y sauce awesome flavors , and reasonable prices...food is prepared quickly ! Noodle Heaven Love...

My favorite Thai restaurant in Richmond! The wait and the kitchen staff are extremely friendly and the food is always so flavorful and delicious. A bit out of the way but it's so worth the drive!

Drove from Northern VA to have a birthday meal with family. Loved the food and service. Best papaya salad, pad thai, panang sauce and green curry.

Awesome food! We happened to be in the neighborhood seeing tacky Christmas lights, and found this place on yelp. It looked pretty deserted on a weeknight, but it was the holiday week after all. We were seated promptly. Our servers seemed really nice and enthusiastic. They took our orders and were very accommodating with our special requests We ordered the drinker noodles (one of the best ever), pad Thai (lacking in color but not in flavor) and green tofu curry (light on veggies unfortunately and a bit sweet, but still decent). Food was fresh and served quickly. Restaurant was clean. Great service. Would definitely recommend.

  • Ann S.

Absolutely loved Thai Flavor! The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and hot! I ordered the Tom Kha, which was flavorful and plentiful. A small would be considered a large in most restaurants. For my entree I ordered the vegetable drunken noodle as i always do and i was pleasantly surprised. it came with an abundance of mixed vegetables, all cooked to perfection. the noodles were thick and tasty. I also loved that they have outdoor seating. the only thing that would make this place better would be if they offered wine or alcohol. I'll definitely be back as it is now my Richmond favorite.

  • Alexander B.

Have frequented for many a workday lunches. While the service can be best be described as frustrating (poor to fair), as the staff can be pokey and to laid back especially when an order gets messed up. I would still recommend it as the food they put out is some of the better thai food in the area. Well portioned, priced, and seasoned.

  • Ben J.

Yeah, you can't beat the quality for the price at this place. I work near Thai Flavor, and I go there for lunch at least a couple of times a month. I always get their vegetable kae mao, and it's probably the best stir-fried noodle dish I've had in Richmond. They really don't mess around with the peppers, and as someone who likes food to be extra hot, it's a nice change from the blander Thai food I've had around here. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but I pick up food for lunch, and it's always packed there at lunchtime. They have a small, brightly-colored, cheerful space. It's crowded in there, but it's always easy to walk through. The service is always friendly and accomodating. If you're on the prowl for cheap Thai food in the West End, you probably can't do any better than this place.

Best thai food so far in richmond in my opinion. The restaurant atmosphere is really basic but the food is far from that . I had the spicy fried rice with beef and the chicken tum yum soup. Both we're very tasty. The best part is the price ! Not bad at all for the portion you get .

  • Bill P.

    I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE! The food is awesome. The service is fast and courteous. The prices are dirt cheap. What more could you ask for? The curries are so flavorful and every dish I've had here is great.

  • Nina H.

My husband and I eat here at least once a month. As pescatarians, our options are limited in Richmond, so we usually end up at ethnic restaurants. There are many Thai options in Richmond, but Thai Flavor is the best! Very fresh, clean restaurant, with authentic flavors. Very consistent too! Love this place!

  • Raul G.

I love Thai food and everytime I visit a new restaurant I try their Pagang curry. Most times I am very disappointed with what I get served, but at Thai Flavor in Richmond their curry is thick and flavorful not runny. I would give them 5 stars if the kitchen was closed off from the dining area because after a meal here you smell as if you were cooking it yourself so I don't recommend it for lunch unless you want to smell of food for the rest of the day.

  • Steven C.

I judge most Thai places based on the same dish that I order every time I eat Thai food--Drunken Noodle aka Pad Kee Mao. I have to say that it was pretty good here considering that the heat was too hot for my taste buds. I had to scale it down to 2 peppers to thoroughly enjoy it. Despite the initial heat, the flavor held so well, that I couldn't stop eating and just bared the spicy. Keep in mind my tolerance for spicy has lowered over the years. The chicken Tom Yum was also a great option on a cold day. Overall, a great spot for a quick Thai fix during my lunch break.

  • Rene G.

Ordered a bowl of soup but got a bowl of white water with five pieces of chicken in it. No vegetables nor rice. Asked for rice. Extra charge! I even got charged for a glass of water. Disgraceful!

Pad woon sen... Very tasty. This is a nicely priced lunch spot that has never been a disappointment to me. Service could be a bit faster and thorough but it is usually slammed so I cut them some slack. :)

Thai Flavor is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in Richmond. Excellent food, huge portions and really great prices. I recently moved, but worked nearly for several years and would frequently go for lunch. My favorite is their pad thai, but they also have an excellent drunken noodles and curry dishes. I'm a huge sprouts fan and usually request extra on my pad thai -- and they are always willing to accommodate. I would usually eat in the restaurant, but the take out is equally good. Be patient if you go around lunch as the restaurant fills up quickly.

  • Steve H.

Disappointment. Been here twice now, both times for lunch with work colleagues and both times I left with only a 'meh' to show for it. It's perfectly cromulent Thai food but certainly not worthy of the gushing on the majority of the Yelp reviews. Chadar Thai down the road, Tip Thai on Staples Mill, and Pad Thai in Hanover are all far better. First tried the Pad Kapow which is a favorite of mine at Tip Thai but both the basil flavor and the chili heat were faint in this dish where they should have been the stars. The second time I just went with a simple chicken Pad Thai which is the ultimate "compare these restaurants" dish. Again, despite their name, the flavor just wasn't there. So ... perfectly edible and reasonably priced dishes for a quick lunch run at work but not where I'd go if the Thai bug hit me.

  • Nancy L.

Love this place! As well others who pack this place daily. Everything I've ordered so far was delicious. My only gripe, hence the 4-stars is the lack of AC in this place. Sweating from eating spicy noodles is one thing, but combine it with heat from open kitchen, packed with people and body heat, it's HOT. But all the tasty and addictive food, heat has not deterred me or any other patrons. Oh and the counter gets kinda sticky from the humidity....

Get some! Ahhhhhh!!!! It's great Tell them to step it up and get beer, I have!

Finally, a thai place that is very close to work and doesn't cost you an arm or another important appendage for a nice meal. I've actually visited it twice. both times, I got my favorite deep fried tofu, which comes in single serving or family size for a little bit more cash but triple the size. My favorite thai noodle dish has always been pad see eew and it's pretty good here. the sweet soy and flat noodles goes well together with the standard beef. On the next day, I got panang with chicken. this is my favorite thai style curry due to the rich coconut flavor and its sweetness. I always run out of rice when ordering this, and getting an extra side order of rice is a guaranteed gut buster. So, stop by this place when you're in innsbrook for lunch, I'm going to try a different dish today.

Love this place, owners are there almost all the time and are extremely nice. Food is delicious and portion always big. Love the pad Thai, fried tofu and dumpling appetizers.

So glad I found this place! Prior to this find, a trip to Carytown was required to eat thai food this good. And being that i live and work in the west end, it was rare to find time to make that journey during lunch hours. The interior is a little cramped but if you don't mind getting cozy with strangers it's awesome. They offer outdoor seating as well. Service is super fast which is great for quick lunch stops and the food is outstanding. Did I mention the food is outstanding???

MMMMMM MMMMMMM MMMMMM! Son this is some good Thai Food! I like the #57 w Chicken - Thai hot Plus extra spicy. Same sweet lady rings my order up every time and same nice man cooks it every time. Perfectly. They even remember to add tomato... give me extra sauce... and and throw an extra hot sauce in the bag... 2 can eat for $20 here... and itll fill ya up with a little to take home for tomorrow I guess what Im tryin to say is... They pay attention to detail - They pay attention to food quality - and they make sure its right and that you are happy. What more could you ask for... Only thing I dont like is the location... wish they werent in the most crowded parking lot ever... seem like i have to park over at Carmax and hike to pick up my dinner.... What does that mean to you? It means im willing to walk a long freakin way to get my meal from this place... its that good. Go get it! I am Tater LoneStar that name is copyrighted and not to be used without permission ;) HA!

  • Lalith D.

Hands down the best Thai food in Richmond. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the place is small and given the popularity can get so crowded that there is literally no space between you and the person on the next table.

  • Reggi L.

4.5/5. I've been here too many times to count now and have tried a variety of dishes from their noodles, fried rice, curry, and fried fish. Their fried tilapia with 3 flavor sauce is delicious but I typically stick to the chicken pad thai (2 peppers) Definitely my go to Thai restaurant in RVA.

  • Arvin S.

Good: food is cooked fresh Bad: they cook in the open so the whole place smells Good: the food, at least the one I tried (Kao Pad Seafood) tasted really good and really authentic Bad: after eating here, i smell everybody's meals on my clothes But I'm still coming back here.. : )

  • Jessica J.

Wow! I find Thai Flavor to be pretty awesome! I love that the food is freshly prepared and seasoned perfectly. The food is always tasty no matter what I get. The Kao Pad is one of my favorite dishes. Try the dumpling appetizer too! Thai Flavor does a pretty hefty take-out business so feel free to call in. The menu is online. Thai Flavor gives Chadar Thai some stiff competition!

what i had: fish cake single #20 beef stew combo I've only had the floating market beef soup here, and it was pretty good. I'm not sure any other Thai restaurants in Richmond offer this dish. The beef was a little more stew like, most pieces melted in my mouth, and the broth delicious with cinnamon, but perhaps a little too sweet. Overall, it was a great meal. The waiter tried to warn me that it's very spicy. I said okay, I love spicy. It turned out not to be spicy at all, so I added more spices from the jars. There was no beef liver, which is standard in this dish, so it was a little disappointing. I asked my waiter about it and he made a funny face. LOL. Tod mund fish cakes were standard. I was a bit nervous to find out the servers were American and didn't really know any of the Thai names I was throwing out, but the cooks in the kitchen were Thai. Good location, a quick place to grab a bite to eat. If you have to impress your date with ambiance, you are a loser. I will return next time I am in Richmond.

When I can go to a restaurant WITHOUT BURGERS, WINGS or PIZZA with a finicky 8 year old, and have them raving about the food by the end of the meal, you know it's a find. The Thai dishes are delicious and generous, the service is attentive and with the kitchen right in the quaint dining room, the smells of the cooking food make you very glad you stopped by. We've been here twice in the past few months, and we have not been disappointed. My son with dairy and beef allergies found plenty of choices and LOVED his noodle dish choices. We are already planning for our return trips.

Thai Flavor has some solid thai food. Usually, restaurants that are too close to corporate offices are bad in both theory and reality. This place is as good as it can be. The food is truly authentic. (Ihave had Thai food from Thai Town in Hollywood more than my Thai coworker did in his life. lol) My only complaint is that it is always crowded during lunch time!

  • Chuck B.

I tried this place for the first time yesterday for lunch. It was so good, I took my girlfriend there for dinner as well. I have had authentic Thai food in Thailand and this is the closest I have come to the food I ate there. The Nam Tok and Kao Kapow are AMAZING and the green curry is phenomenal. I will definitely be going back there.

I'm soo happy that this place open up especially right around the corner from work! The menu has great variety not to over bearing like some restaurant. The prices are great your not spending an arm and leg for great food. I love the portions they give to you its sooo big. I always ask for a togo box.I do like the open concept of the kitchen its nice to see what the chef is cooking. The decor is warm & inviting its very simple. The tables are a little small especially if you order alot of dishes despite that its nice. As one reviewer said its not "americanize" they can throw down the real stuff thats how its made! As far as the service I'm please with it every now & then its takes them forever usually i go during the day b/t 1:00pm-3:00pm so there not to busy then. Overall thumbs up for a thai place in upper west end.

This place is so good I will drive 35 minutes one way for takeout from deep in Southside all the way up to the West End! The veggie pad thai is AMAZING, as was the soup I had - and the mango/sticky rice was delish. The food is FRESH, quick, and it was under 25 bucks (including tip) for 2 of us and one child. We got a takeout menu on the way out.

  • Satori P.

I went here with a couple of my girl friends and we ordered the typical Thai dishes: yellow curry, drunken noodles and beef stir fry. Of course, we had to wash it down with thai iced tea. Compared to some of the other thai restaurants around town, I rank this one as one of the best. The food was full of flavor. Their spicy level is just right and the staff is super friendly and attentive. I would totally come back again.

  • Jungmin D.

Don't get me wrong...the food here is pretty good. I love the crab rangoons and the pad thai isn't bad..yet on the sweeter side. The reason I'm giving this restaurant a 1 star review is due to the fact that they clearly don't know what service is. Either that, or they are bias to customers who "look" like they will pay more (tip). This doesn't make any sense. I went out to have a nice dinner before heading to the gym with my girlfriend only to have us be ignored and seated at the worst seat even when other spots were available. My water wasn't refilled even once during our 1 hour dinner and during that one hour the servers were only at our table to take our order, to give our food, and to give us our checks. Fail. I won't be going back unless I order out.

Went in the middle of the afternoon, right before thanksgiving, and it was empty. So we got our food fast and service was attentive. Appetizers were fried spring rolls and shrimp rolls. The fried spring rolls were not so hot, a little generic and tasteless. Shrimp rolls were much better but I've had better. For my main entree, I honestly can't recall the name of the dish I got because it was in Thai, but if you must know, it was #22 on the menu. The description was a special soup with ground chicken, sausage, noodles, ginger and bean sprouts. The "special soup" was a spicy, curry soup that was pretty damn good. Good level of heat and a little sweetness was there from the coconut milk. I wish it came with a bowl of rice, because i would definitely eat the remaining soup with some white rice. My girlfriend got the ginger fish and she thought it was pretty bland and generic, so I'd be careful about what you pick. I guess my 4 stars were primarily from my main entree, because everything else was pretty "meh".

I've been here a handful of times now and I think the qualify of the food has gone down in the past several months... On my most recent visit I decided to order the Shrimp Pad Thai. I usually order the Pad See Ew or the Drunken noodles but decided to order a classic dish. I requested mine to be a medium spicy which may have been a bad choice...? It was almost a little bit too spicy for my liking. I like a good amount of heat but I had to order a Thai Iced tea to help me with the spiciness... lolz. I was only one of two tables for an early lunch around 11.30 AM and there was only one waiter. The service was slower than I would have expected especially since there were only TWO tables. The waitress seemed to be more consumed with their prep work than being attentive to the customers. On to the Pad Thai. The bad: the portion sizes have dramatically decreased since when they first opened. It's still a decent size, but the plate/serving has gone down for sure. The noodles were a little too wet and a tad bit chewy. To me Pad Thai needs to have that right amount of sweet/spicy/salty and it just didn't do it for me this time. The only good thing I can say is that they use nice size shrimp in their pad thai and they were cooked beautifully. I may have to check other Thai restaurants in the area if the quality doesn't improve.

I've been driving past this place for a while now, but since I already had a thai restaurant I liked to go to when I had a craving, I never made it here....until today. It's a quaint (read: small) place in Innsbrook with maybe 10 tables and some "bar" seats (there's no bar, but it's similar style seating around the kitchen area). My sister and I came at the start of the lunch rush and left when it was super busy, but the staff were very friendly throughout our entire visit. My sister had the Pad See Eaw ($8 lunch) and I had the Drunken Noodle ($8 lunch). Both were delicious! The pad see eaw is probably the best I've had in a long time! The drunken noodle was also great, but they make it a bit differently than I'm used to (they use green beans as the veggie and I kinda prefer tomatoes, not a bad choice, just different). We also got the fried ice cream which was well made (and only $4). The only disappointment was the thai iced tea, it wasn't smooth, like they used low-fat evaporated milk or regular milk. It reminded me of the Vietnamese grass jelly drinks. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the place was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious. This place is actually closer to me than my thai restaurant of choice, so I may be visiting Thai Flavor to satisfy my cravings from now on.

This place is great. I think I would like it better if I had ordered take out instead of dining in. The service was just okay, nothing too spectacular. The food was pretty good and I thought the prices were reasonable. I didn't like the dining area though. The tables were very close together and the kitchen was literally in the middle of the restaurant. It was really warm and a little uncomfortable.

I've been here a few times with my BF and we've usually enjoyed the dishes we've ordered (and their prices!). There is a good selection of noodles, salads, soup noodles, and special entrees. Every time we come here it's quite busy, even though its location is a bit tucked away in the shopping center. The head cook is so friendly, one time I was there I ordered a Thai tea. It didn't taste right at all, so I asked the young waiter if we could get a new one. He gave me a weird look like "wtf, there's nothing wrong with our tea" but gave us another glass. Same weird taste. I had a sip and just left it alone. The head cook came over a few minutes later and gave me a new glass and said, "Sorry about that, this should be much better!" I was very surprised considering I hadn't said anything the second time and very happy that he was more attentive than our waiter. No real complaints about Thai Flavor, but last time we ordered Pad See Ew which usually comes with Chinese broccoli. Now.. I know my veggies. When we got the plate and I saw American broccoli florets I was a little disappointed. I don't know if they had just run out or thought that we wouldn't know better but.... I did. Tsk tsk! Besides that, I still enjoy Thai Flavor's food and laidback atmosphere so I'll continue to come back :)

This isn't the place to go if you are looking for a special date night, but if you want delicious Thai food Thai Flavor is where it's at. It's a hole in the wall, I think it was an old Subway or Pita Pit of something, but a great place to go for lunch. I always have good quick service and the food is always on point. I like my dishes "Thai Spicy" and they deliver each and every time. Check them out for sure!

Don't allow the simplicity of the decor deter you from giving them a try! There isn't anything flashy about this restaurant and you would probably never notice it unless someone else told you about it [this place was recommended to me by my roommate]. I recommend giving them a try because they offer more than just the standard Thai fare of rice, curries, and noodle dishes. I love broth so I was pleasantly surprised to find so many noodle soups available here! My favorite is the tom yum noodle soup with chicken. It has the right amount of tang and spice in the broth. As for their panang curry and drunken noodles, they aren't the best I have had, but they are flavorful and will satisfy---plus, their portions are generous. Service can be slow here and they do need a couple more waiters to handle the clientele during peak hours. You might be better off ordering take out if you decide to visit them during a busy time. Food: 4 Value: 4 Service: 3 Overall: 4

My girlfriend and I have been here multiple times. She is Vegan and it is very difficult to find a restaurant that caters to most dietary needs. Every experience here has been very good. They have a large selection, large portions and friendly staff. I highly recommend Thai Flavor!

The food here always tastes so fresh! This is definitely my favorite thai place in Richmond. So far I've tried pad Thai, drunken noodles, and pineapple fried rice. All of them were delicious! Their crab Rangoon's are the best I've ever had.

Stopped in here while on a business trip. Had the Thai iced tea and the fried tilapia with chili sauce. One of the best I've had. Mango sticky rice for dessert and I'm a happy camper. Seems like they do a solid takeout business, as well. Come for the food. Not a date place. Service was very good!

Great value for money! We usually do take-outs as the dinky little place often gets a bit fetid and damp. Great food though.

This is one of my favorite places to get Thai food on the West End. The food is always consistent, fresh and full of flavor. My go to dish is the drunken noodle. I always get it with chicken. The touch of spice in this dish brings a little heat that is not too overwhelming for me. I also like the prid pak sod a lot too. Also the staff is always very nice and welcoming, regardless if you are in the restaurant or ordering to go. Speaking from experience, to go orders here usually are ready in about 15 minutes. The cost of food here is really minimal as they give huge portions. My husband and I usually order a couple dishes and it is enough food to last us about two meals.

So it pains to give a bad review on this place. We have lived in Richmond for a year and this has been a frequent lunch destination for my husband and I. Let me start by saying the food is amazing! We have never had a bad meal and there are about 3 menu items we gravitate to and they are always spiced right and plated perfectly. The restaurant itself is small but the decor is nice. Now the bad. We came here today for our lunch break which is an hour long. We arrived at 12 and were promptly greeted and seated. At approximately 12:11 our server, a young girl we've had on many occasions, took our order. Before she did that though she rudely snapped at the table next to us who has been asking for a refill on their water almost yelling at them saying "I'm getting to it!" The customers were shocked and appalled. After taking our drink and lunch order she proceeded to clean tables and take other orders of guests arriving after us. At 12:20 we still sat without drinks. I got her attention and asked very nicely "can we get our drinks please?" she huffed and rolled her eyes and answered "I just took your order!" I said "I understand but we've been sitting here for 20 minutes and there is no reason that we should not have drinks and you don't need to get nasty." She didn't respond and walked away to tend to other things, obviously not to get our drinks, and came back about 5 minutes later with our 2 ice waters! That's right, 25 minutes for ice water delivered by a rude server with a nasty attitude. We seriously debated just getting up and leaving at this point but we were already 30 minutes in to our lunch hour and we wanted that yummy food. Thar was a big mistake. Now it's 12:42 and we noticed two other tables getting their food prior to us that arrived after we did, dare we notify our snippy server? I asked her if she knew how much longer it will be and she said "they just keep telling me it's coming but it's not" What the heck does that even mean? What kind of answer is that? I proceeded to tell her how two other tables were served ahead of us. She said "where? Which tables?" As if I were making it up. Anyway we were finally served lunch at 12:46 and had about 5 minutes to eat. It is never recommended to scarf down Thai food in such a frantic rush. We are loyal customers and we should've never been treated this way. We will most likely go back and give this place another shot only because the wonderful quality of the food. Hopefully, for our sake, we get a different server.

One of the better Thai places in RVA! Definitely gets packed during lunch, but the food comes out quick and lunch portions are massive. Prices are good for the portion. My sister got the drunken noodles with seafood and we all agreed that was the best. Their version had a lot of mussels in it..delicious. You also can't go wrong with pad Thai, but I've had more flavorful curry at other places.

    (4)
  • Robert S.

Their pad kee mao (drunken noodle) is amazing. No other restaurant comes close. Their other dishes are good but I only go for the drunken noodles. They are not big but they get it right.

Updating my review to a 5! The entrees are always good. I mainly like noodle dishes like pad see ew and drunken noodle but everything has been good. They have duck soup which is hard to find in Richmond and it was very good. BF had it with the thick rice noodle. He comments he wishes there were more duck. Lunch specials are still good and offered on the weekends. Food comes out fairly quickly and hot. Spice rating is accurate (i.e. not "Americanized). BF said, why don't we come here more?

One of the better Thai places I've been to, in terms of the food! Pros: - The pad thai was very, very good. Flavor was spot on and the noodles were just a little bit crispy on the edges, which was perfect. - Large portions for a reasonable price ($8ish before tip for most dishes) - Clean interior Cons: - One person's noodles took way longer to arrive than everyone else's (less than 10 min) - The interior decoration has that sterile/stark feeling that froyo places have. It might be the bright clear green plastic chairs which only look cool... the booths were hard and uncomfortable too. Therefore the ambience is not beautiful...but that's okay - just don't come here for a date, like someone earlier mentioned. Will be back with friends or fam!

My friend and I went here for lunch recently and it is one of my new favorite favorite! On Saturday, they have a lunch special which comes with your entree, a spring roll, a fried wanton, and a desert of the day! It's a lot of food for how much you pay - something like $13. I asked the waitress to make a recommendation on which entree to order, and her recommendation was spot on! The food was delicious and I will be back!

Recent renovation has increase their price a lot. They would also charge extra $2 for a cup of rice. Ridiculous. How ever the food is authentic, capable of delivering the spice level needed. Clean, beautiful, and functional interior. Local feeling. Would come again!

Um, no. This is not the best Thai in Richmond. We had pad thai and massaman curry. Pad Thai noodles were rubbery and difficult to chew and the flavor just wasn't right. Curry was ok, good not great. I prefer Thai Diner any day of the week.

Really good drunken noodles! I like mild and spicy. Haven't tried the 3 peppers yet, but I'm working up to it. Their appetizers are great too! Really fresh! Minus 1 star because of their lack of space between the tables. Awesome place for lunch but go early cuz they get packed!

Maybe "the best" thai food in richmond, but that is all relative, because there isn't good thai in richmond we ordered two apps and 3 dishes and all were forgettable decent food if you really want some thai, and regular prices, but nothing that sets it apart from any other mediocre thai spot

  • Ellen H.

This place is small, but packs a punch with their food. The service is always good, the food is even better, and the price doesn't get any better. I like their Pad Thai best out of all Thai places I have tried. Their Drunken noodles, their fried rice, all very good. Their portions are so huge I have to split it into two meals. Their dessert is nothing spectacular, but you hardly have any room for dessert anyway with the portion and quality dinner plate they give you. Their place is popular and people are always walking in and out. I will say the soups at Tara Thai is much better (gasp! A chain!), but other than that, this is my go-to place for Pad Thai!

Really loved this place. We found it on a whim here on Yelp when we had intended to go somewhere else. Really glad we did. We've been back once and plan on going again. The vegetarian options are diverse and also a great price. My first visit I had the Vegetable Kae Mao and it is so far my favorite. Second visit was the Spicy Veggie Basil which was also really good. My husband had Pad See Eaw with chicken and loved it and the kidlet had the Massaman curry and the bite I tried of the sauce was perfect. In addition to the food being excellent, the service was outstanding. Loved that the kitchen was right there in the open. It's a smaller space and was busy on our first lunch visit and I can see why.

My wife and I ordered take out from here on 06/11/15.We ordered dumplings a order of rice.We were eating it at home and discovered a small sharp metal screw in the rice which I had bit into.Upon going back to show and tell them they were nice but did not seem to grasp how bad this could have been if any of us had swallowed this.He offered to make another rice for us but I did not want to eat here again. So he offered 50% off the bill(which was only 28.40).I guess you need to find a razor blade in your food to get 100% of your money back for metal objects in the food.NEVER eat here again!I only gave it one star so I could post this!

This place definitely has it's good and it's bad. The good is that the food taste fresh, they are fast, the service is higher than average, and they have a variety of dishes on their menu that you don't see in other places. However the bad is that the dishes are too sweet, seating is tight, and lack of attention to detail caused me to find things floating in my water and stained to go boxes. My several dinning experiences makes this place an OK place to eat but will also have it's purpose when it comes to certain dining criteria.

The food was ok... Nothing I would rush back for but enjoyable. What was concerning was the cleanliness.... I noticed the same waitress cleaning all the tables also brought out all the food with little time in between to "wash hands" At the end of our meal there was a cockroach-like bug crawling on the wall behind my boyfriend... That is the sole reason we won't be back!

Per recommendation from a good friend of mine, I decided to check out this place. I've always driven by it but never really stopped in. Wow! Was I pleasantly surprised!! At first glance it looks like you're usual asian restaurant plus some colorful seating. Nothing special as far as atmosphere, but it was organized, bright and clean. As far as the food goes, this place definitely over delivers. We had a small starter of three fried shrimp. It was pretty much just that - three fried shrimp wrapped in some batter and served with sweet chilli sauce. It was okay, but next time I think I will try the soup. We ordered two main dishes. My friend ordered the drunken noodle with tofu with 3 pepper spicy level. Wow was this delicious. I was fortunate enough to try a few bites. Perfectly seasoned, amazing sauce, and great ratio of noodles to tofu to vegetables. My dish was the Kao Bra Tiam-Prik Thai. it was a rice dish perfectly flavored with an array of fresh vegetables and ample thinly sliced chicken. I added a few dashed of the spicy tray that was available. After I added my level of heat it was absolutely perfect. Needless to say, I will absolutely be back here for lunch again. For the price, this is definitely the most flavor for your buck in the innsbrook area.

Great thai place. Lunch specials were great selection and price. Lots of food. Thai iced coffee was great. Staff was friendly and place was clean. Small not too much seating. Pad thai was good and drunken noodle dish was outstanding and very spicy!

I went here last night for dinner with my fiance and some friends and wasn't too impressed. The food was good, the service was okay, the place was loud. I had the stir fried vegetables with tofu and it was okay. It was under seasoned and the tofu was a bit spongy for my taste. The curry my fiance had was too sweet. The wonton soup and the chicken satay we had prior to the main course was better than the entree. If I didn't have a lot of time and was in the area, I'd go back for a quick bite to eat, but there are some better Thai places in the area if you have more time.

This time we were a bit disappointed. a) the green curry was missing a lot of ingredients listed in the menu. Here is the description of this dish from their menu: " (Green curry) Thai green curry with green chili, red bell pepper, basil leaves, bamboo shot, Thai eggplant and rhizome and choice of meat". From all of it the curry contended only Chicken and bamboo shots. UNACCEPTABLE! b) we ordered 2 green tea cups. One had one brand and the other had another brand. Both were tasteless and not hot. Drunken noodle was OK. They are popular but I guess at busy times the quality of the food suffers. Not sure if we want to come back.

My husband and I went here this evening and had and overall good experience. Atmosphere is average but everything looked clean. We had a male and female server helping us and both were extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered vegetable pad Thai and my husband ordered some spicy chicken rice dish. They were both very yummy! Prices were very reasonable as well. My only small issue was that my husband received his food a good five minutes before me, but I didn't really mike because the service was so good.

I will always have this location on my mind when it comes to Thai food. There are very few that can be as consistent as Thai flavor in my opinion. Service is just charming and on task every time I've been. The food has never disappointed and the meals always hit just the right spots. My only complaint is that this place gets filled up fast whenever I try to go. If I had to choose between the classic fried rice or drunken noodles.. I guess it just has to be a 'thai' I just needed to get that one out there..

Ever since discovering this place is within a 10-minute drive of both work and home, it's become a regular spot for me. This is the one restaurant whose number I have saved in my phone. I've never eaten in, but the take out is quick and the service is friendly. The prices are super reasonable (especially lunch!) and the portions are decent. The green curry is my go-to menu item, but everything else I've gotten here has also been great. The menu is available online if you visit their page on the Innsbrook Shoppes website.

This review is based off of my first time eating here, but if this first experience is any indication of what dining here is like on a regular basis, I will certainly be a repeat customer. The location itself is tucked into a small shopping center on Broad Street right before you cross under 64 heading into the Short Pump area. My first impression when I walked in was that they must do more carry out business than dine in due to the open kitchen layout. I was promoptly seated at a table by the one server that was working. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea (this is my crack!) while I perused the menu. I went with the Veggie Spring Rolls and the Panang Curry with Chicken. The spring rolls came out in prompt order so I decided to let them cool for a minute. I hadn't even had a chance to take a bite before my main dish arrived. The Panang Curry comes with a heaping side of white rice. The curry itself came in a healthly sized dish. The curry itself was hot (temp), creamy and very flavorful. I was very happy with the consitency of the curry, so other places the curry seems watered down and therefore the flavors are not as strong. My total bill with the specialty drink, app and main dish was $15.26 and I ended up with leftovers enough for lunch today. Two points that are more personal pet peeve but did not seriously impact my dining experience. 1. I would have like the spring rolls to have been cook a few seconds longer to give them a nice golden crispy. The ones I got were crispy but were still light and I feel they taste better with a little more crispy on them. 2. While I love fast service, I get a little annoyed when I can't finish my appertizer before my main dish. Had I not been dining solo it would have made the table very crowded with dishes. All in all though, Thai Flavor presents great food and a fairly decent price.

  • Pete E.

Food was incredible! Perfectly portioned, priced right (8-10 for an entree), and just the right amount of spicyness! Only real complaint was the furniture was a little uncomfortable, but I can't argue when the price is so low.

  • Donna R.

Friendly staff and the good is ready quickly. The drunken noodles were tasty, the beef gravy noodle was kind of like hamburger helper without being creamy and the rangoons were good but disappointed the family size for 6.95 was only six of them. Over priced for what they are. I know because I have made a ton of them for hardly anything. I would return to eat the drunken noodles and to try other items.

This was a Yelp find, as I was craving Thai in the unfamiliar wild, wild West End. Upon walking in, I realized that it was more of a take-out joint which I didn't realize before walking in. We grabbed some menus and sat down and then were greeted by the waiter on duty. I ordered spring rolls and shrimp pad thai. My shrimp were cooked perfectly, but the pad thai itself was just a tad lacking in flavor. It needed a little more sauciness or umph. It was a large portion though, and I ate half there and the rest for lunch the next day. Service by the waiter was great. The cooks made sure to say thank you as we were leaving. I would dine in again, but it would be more comfortable to eat at home. I say this because there is no ambiance to speak of, and all of the tables face the grill/cooking area/register and it just is the exact opposite of intimate.

Authentic and very reasonably priced thai food. Thai flavor is absolutely one of the best Thai Restaurants I've tried in Richmond. In fact, I can confidently say that it's on my 'favorite Restaurants in Richmond' list. The great service and delicious food are always consistent, and of my 4 visits, I have never left here without feeling satisfied, happy, and with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The tom yum never fails to make my mouth water with its tangy taste, and the thai tea is a perfect ratio of black thai tea and sweetened half and half-- it isn't too sweet nor is it too watered down. The chicken pad see eaw here is made right-- not too greasy, with the right amount of sauce, right combination of flavorings, and a very generous serving. This restaurant is also located a few minutes from short pump in a small strip mall, so parking is easy and hassle free--no need to parallel park here! ;)

There's no question to me that Thai Flavor deserves 5 stars! I've only delayed writing a review so I could get a good cross sampling of the menu and cement my opinion. Ya know how some restaurants have a few items that are their signature specialties but the other stuff is just meh? I'm here to say that I've tasted nine different items across the menu sections and loved every one of them! I am still no expert on Thai food but I know when food kicks my ass with great flavor and this is it! Thanks to some recommendations from the Yelp community, it's been easier to learn this wonderful cuisine, and I continue to learn with each visit. For once, I'm one of those lucky people who works nearby a great restaurant so can enjoy it whenever I want for lunch (I'm still soooo jealous of you downtown Yelpers who have all those excellent food trucks to choose from.) I tried the panang curry, Lad Na, the tom kha gai, tom yum goong, guay thew tom yum gai, kanom jeeb, green curry (wow!), and others. All had me thinking about them the rest of the day -- in a good way. Their spice levels (1 to 3 pepper icons) seems to be pretty true for me. I usually stick to 2 peppers (a.k.a. spicy) and am happy. There's something about that certain level of heat where you can't stop eating it and craving more. I've officially declared this my "Summer of Thai" as I attempt to learn all I can about this wonderful culture and its food. I probably should have chosen a less spicy cuisine for the hot summer months (my forehead tends to perspire with spicy foods-- not a good mix for Virginia's humid heat) but I'll have the cleanest pores in Glen Allen so yay! You're missing out if you don't try Thai Flavors. Please just wait until after 2pm so I'll be able to get a lunch table. :)

I tried this place b/c it is close to work and because of great reviews. I started with the basic- shrimp pad thai. First, the dish had NO heat at all. I am later told my a friend that I have to order the heat by the "pepper" as in "1 pepper, 2 pepper..." well why didn't the lady ask me my heat preference when I called to order? Next, the eggs were burned, as in, they were blackened, and they made every single bite taste like burned yuckiness. There was no heat, no flavor besides the taste of burned food and there was no lime wedge, which is generally a staple with pad thai. All of that plus wasting $11....I will probably not go back.

AGAIN.... Chef Krit has out done himself here at Thai Flavor. I am really beginning to think he is the "Iron Chef" of Thai Food here in Richmond and for those of us who enjoy good Thai Food... We should feel lucky how he is is cooking for us. Today, I ordered the Lad Na. I asked for his recommendation for either Pork, Chicken or Beef. As a good Chef he recommends all... OK, tired of that.... so I asked Chef Krit... what would you order and he said Pork!... So I ordered my Lad Na with Pork. When I received it, I could see a thick gravy within the dish and I was hoping it would have a great flavor. So, I took my spoon, and I thought I was in Thai Heaven as the different flavors of the Gravy was OUTSTANDING..... I thought of my Grandmother, as when she was alive she knew how to cook gravy; Country Style.... I think Chef Krit is basically a Country Style Thai Chef with my grandmother standing behind him... lol The Chef brought me over a Thai Ice Tea as I ordered my Lad Na a Spicy, "5 Thai Hot". If you look at the photo I posted, you will see the "Heat". and I do not mean Temperature Heat either. The Thai Ice Tea really was a nice contrast to the spicy dish which had so many wonderful flavors. If you have not been to Thai Flavors, than you are missing some of the BEST Thai food in Richmond. I want you to try Thai Flavor, and I hope you will let us know. Thai Food is my favorite of all the Asian Foods dishes here in Richmond. The Thai People know how to cook with spices and if you like Spice or Spicy... than you must have Chef Krit cook your next meal.... :-)))

Maybe it was because it was during the lunch rush, but I was sadly disappointed in this place. After reading reviews, I was expecting to be blown away by the food. Our waiter was nice, but he took pretty long to even take our drink order. We ordered the crab rangoon which I was hugely disappointed in. It was small, the cream cheese was cold, and it was overly greasy. My sister ordered the Pad Thai, which was overly sweet. I ordered the Drunken Noodles, medium spicy, which ended up being so spicy that it overtook the flavor and didn't compliment it well. I don't know, this is one of those times that Yelp reviews have failed me. Maybe it was just an off day. All I know is that I would rather try out another place.

Just loved it. Green curry is spicy to my taste. Good service and affordable price. Give it a try!

I swung my vehicle as wanted to have my tongue taste some thai cuisine. Ohh it was too spicy even when I asked them to tone it down. I have eaten here before but for the last times, they are ready to throw chilies on me. Minus that part, food is awesome and the person who was serving us is very courteous. Just had to check on him little often to serve us cold water. May be it was too frequent due to spiciness. They three categories one, two and three chillies but your level might be different than theirs.

Thai Flavor is the first Thai place I've been to in Richmond. I went here with my parents for lunch today and I had some beef noodle soup. My step-mom had the lettuce wrap, and for the life of me I could not spell what my dad had. Service was excellent. We were promptly seated and our orders taken. The owner of the restaurant was a lovely woman and she was extremely friendly. She was our waitress the entire time. Our appetizers came out quickly, but the one thing I did not like was that our entrees were not all brought out at the same time. There was at least 5 minutes between each one being brought out. I felt bad chowing down on my yummy soup while my dad's stomach was growling. I also had to get another dish because they had ran out of their duck soup, which made me sad. My soup was hot and the rice noodles were really yummy. It was fresh and authentic and had just the right amount of spice. I'm a baby when it comes to spicy food so I'm always wary of Thai places even though I love Asian cuisine. My step-mother said her food was good but nothing too special. My dad specially requested that he have his food "Thai spicy". He always does this because he likes things really hot. He reported, sadly that his dish wasn't nearly as hot as he wanted it to be and his dish a little bit of a miss. My dad is very picky about his Thai food though so I would take his comment either way. Prices were good and fair for the amount you got. Thai Flavor is a solid choice if you are around the Short Pump/Innsbrook area. 4 stars.

As i was in Richmond, I came across this Thai restaurant on yelp. I walked in and they had sushi bar set up. You can actually see the cooks cooking your food. What ordered was delicious but where they placed their togo utensils are below the knees length and dust fly around when you walk. I would eat in but never take it to go.

Meh... Food was pretty tasteless and greasy.. it wasn't horrible but definitely not good. I ate half of my pad thai then 86'ed the rest after I was feeling like I overloaded on my grease intake for the day

Best Thai in Richmond. Delicious, hefty portions (my husband and I could share 1 entree, but we always get 2 so we can have leftovers the next day!), and prices are very reasonable (7.95 dinner entree). We had the drunken noodles, Panang curry, and kapow chicken. Every dish was totally flavorful, completely unique. The curry was my favorite, very creamy sauce with rich nutty taste. Will definitely order each one of these again!

One of the best Thai Restaurants we have eaten in the US. We ordered som tam, pad thai, and khra pao gai with kai dao, which you cannot even order many places. In addition, we had very good cha manao to drink. Our dishes were all very authentically prepared with good ingredients and extremely good balance between sweet/sour/spicy. As a tip, ask for Thai taste when you order as that Is what our waitress told the chef in the very interesting open kitchen. It is always fun to watch thai food being prepared - especially som tam where they must use a cloak to mesh the ingredients. Very nice culinary team as well and great service. We are so disappointed to not live closer to here as we would certainly be regulars!

Yelpers are correct- this place is great for lunch! My friend and I tried it today, and we both enjoyed it. It's a small place but it smelled AH-MAZING when we walked in, had a nice vibe to it, and was clean. Their menu focuses on rice and noodle dishes for lunch, with starters/salads/curries also available. We both got wide noodle dishes- I got the chicken and chinese broccoli with wide noodles, in a "gravy"... and it was tasty! It was a HUGE portion as well, which is nice. I could have taken the rest home if I had thought to do so. We also tried the fried tofu, but it was just ok- it was fried nicely but tofu really has no flavor on it's own and it wasn't seasoned, so it fell flat. The peanuty dipping sauce it came with wasn't bad... When the check came, my portion of the meal was $11. For an entree and splitting an appetizer, that is pretty darn good! And so, this is one of my new favorite places.

Good, not great, curry. Tried both the panang and massaman curries, both had a solid flavor with good amount of heat. I was disappointed to not see the ever popular red curry, but oh well. It reminded me a bit like how Tara Thai's curry tasted years ago, but slightly better. I tend to prefer my curry more soupy, however. The price is on the cheaper side for curry, which is much appreciated :)

This will become one of new favorites in Richmond for Thai takeout. We tried the Shrimp Pad Thai and Vegetarian Pad Thai. Both were excellent in flavor and we are looking forward to going back. They have very reasonable prices. But whatever is in the sauce is what really made the Pad Thai stand out for us. I would give it 5 stars for food but 3 stars for the "ambiance." It kind of felt like it belonged in another area of town away from the more refined restaurants in the Innsbrook area. Because the seats were hard and uncomfortable, we will probably do takeout next time as we did not want spend any extra time inside. The staff was friendly and the kitchen is essentially part of the dining area and so you know when your food is ready. However, don't let the interior discourage you as the food is worth the trip.

If you want good and cheap Thai food this is the place to go. Quick and delicious. Outside patio is definitely a plus.

Unassuming Restaurant with Good Food Thai food has a distinct taste that I couldn't distinguish for the longest time. So I decided to look it up while waiting for my food here. The best way I've heard this taste described is "toasty" or "wok smell" by Leela on shesimmers.com . Apparently, pad see ew means "fried with soy sauce". The pad see ew was served cleanly on a nice large plate with plenty of broccoli and chicken. It's on par with the best I've had in California at a modest price (10 total). + Good food, modest price. - Modest appearances = Great for lunch, bad for dates. Service and Ambiance 3/5 Food 5/5 Value 5/5
